NAME: Nemuri Kayama / Midnight
CANON: My Hero Academia

PERSONALITY:
Nemuri’s general personality is overall playful and flirty, but that’s not all there is to her by any stretch of the imagination. If you were to ask any of her friends, she’s the one who needles and harasses them, usually for her own amusement, but not in a way that is malicious or harmful most of the time. She uses this to get them to do things she wants, often using her personality and physicality to do so. In one of the light novels, the teachers are out for drinks, and Nemuri physically tries to encourage Hizashi to drink something she has concocted herself, much to his unfortunate dislike. Despite this, her coworkers and friends know they can count on her when needed.
She also uses this method to encourage others, her stubborn and relentless needling coming in handy when she feels like encouraging a friend to do something she feels is in their best interest. An example of this would be when she submitted teaching paperwork for Aizawa, even if at the time he was adamant that it would be a bad idea.. As it turns out, her instincts were right, as a matter of fact.
Although she can be a pain sometimes, Nemuri can be a very nurturing person. In the past, she’s tag teamed with Hizashi to keep tabs on Shouta to make sure he’s still alive before he becomes a teacher. It’s in her nature to check on those that she cares about in this way. During the Final Exams for class 1-A, after she puts Sero to sleep during his and Mineta’s test against her, instead of letting him fall to the ground, she lets him sleep against her for a while before she goes chasing after Mineta. So while she didn’t hold back during their exam she also took care of her student when he was in a vulnerable state.
Despite being playful and energetic, Nemuri is perfectly capable of getting down to business when the situation calls for it. She’s a pro hero, and with that comes a certain level of professionalism. The job is dangerous and Nemuri understands that, there is a time and place to play and hero missions are not the time. Her ability to focus and act professionally when the time calls for it makes her a valuable asset when she and her coworkers and allies are trying to apprehend a villain.. This also goes for her hours on the job at UA. When it comes to teaching the students, she might be playful at times, but at the same time, her attitude does not get in the way of teaching the next generation of heroes under her care.
Nemuri can be a very enthusiastic person overall, not just when it comes to needling her friends or being a nurturing teacher. Whenever she wants to do something, she throws herself into it 100+%. When she begins teaching she speaks of it fondly and with a certain kind of enthusiasm new teachers display when they get to interact with their students. She readily gushes about her job to Shouta over the phone, and enjoys it enough to encourage OTHERS to do it with her. This can also be seen when she’s MCing the Sports Festival, having the energy to keep the excitement going for the students involved and the crowd watching live and on television.
However, despite her general agreeable personality Nemuri can be temperamental, getting angry when someone interrupts her or insults her. She’s especially sensitive about her age, hating when people make age related comments in her direction. For example, she gets into a fight with Mount Lady during an interview on camera when the latter makes a comment about her being old. It’s clear that she’s very willing to throw down at someone who’s personality she clashes with. Fortunately for others, this temper seems to be rare overall, her ire at this level only triggered by certain topics, such as age as mentioned above. Of course she can still get angry at situations anyone else would, but perhaps not to the same level as her pet sensitivities. Tread carefully, here!
Shame is something that is nigh foreign to Nemuri. Her tagline is ‘the r-rated hero’ after all. In fact, her original hero costume is the reason decency rules about costumes were put in place. She does not seem to be bothered by this reputation, and her current costume is largely BDSM themed. Her current costume is still revealing, but instead of bearing as much skin as possible she has instead opted to wear a very thin flesh toned fabric that is easy to rip when she needs to use her quirk. She can sometimes get very excited when it comes to things she finds cute or attractive like energetic youth. Her peers mostly seem to be numb to it, their protests falling on deaf ears. For example: when talking to Aizawa in Vigilantes, she’s going to squeeze the students dry because they can’t ‘let it all out’ in puberty and become villains. She has no problem with making these comments in front of students, or anyone really. When two students decide to drop from the sports tournament, she makes a comment, on live TV, that it turns her on.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
Quirk: Somnambulist
She exudes a sort of sleep dust/aroma (It looks like dust, but is just a scent) from her body, hence the body suit. Her quirk is more effective on men over women, but will still work on women if they breathe in enough of the aroma for it to take effect. The main weakness is that it needs to be inhaled to work, gas masks or avoiding breathing can prevent being affected. Due to the nature of the quirk, I would be communicating oocly with anyone before having her use it on anyone.
